CFL.ca - Official Site of the Canadian Football League
Great season. CFL.ca and TSN played a big part in
making it possible and presenting it to all the
fans.
CFL.ca - Official Site of the Canadian Football League
It was a grand year for the CFL. It was just very
difficult for a Riders fan to watch the " 13th Man "
penalty destroy a victory.
Oh well, there is next year.

The CFL East-West All Stars.
A lot of Roughriders on the squad. That was pretty
impressive.
PLAYOFFS COMING THIS WEEKEND.
The playoffs are upon us and two teams have a bye.
Saskatchewan and Montreal play two weeks from now
as they both have a ticket for the Eastern and
Western finals. Four other contenders face off this

Get Out To Your Local Church Tomorrow.
and the local body of Christ is one of the finest places a family can
invest their heart and lives. Building relationships, healing hurts and
having a relationship with our Lord and Saviour that rebuilds or
establishes life in His Name.
A Few Things About The Church We Should Note From A
Historical Context And Its Reality in Relation to Creation.
Church
In the New Testament it is the translation of the Greek word ecclesia, which is synonymous with the Hebrew Kahal of the Old Testament, both words meaning simply an assembly, the character of which can only be known from the connection in which the word is found. There is no clear instance of its being used for a place of meeting or of worship, although in post-apostolic times it early received this meaning. Nor is this word ever used to denote the inhabitants of a country united in the same profession, as when we say the "Church of England," the "Church of Scotland," etc.
We find the word ecclesia used in the following senses in the New Testament:
The church visible "consists of all those throughout the world that profess the true religion, together with their children." It is called "visible" because its members are known and its assemblies are public. Here there is a mixture of "wheat and chaff," of saints and sinners. "God has commanded his people to organize themselves into distinct visible ecclesiastical communities, with constitutions, laws, and officers, badges, ordinances, and discipline, for the great purpose of giving visibility to his kingdom, of making known the gospel of that kingdom, and of gathering in all its elect subjects. Each one of these distinct organized communities which is faithful to the great King is an integral part of the visible church, and all together constitute the catholic or universal visible church." A credible profession of the true religion constitutes a person a member of this church. This is "the kingdom of heaven," whose character and progress are set forth in the parables recorded in Matthew 13. The children of all who thus profess the true religion are members of the visible church along with their parents. Children are included in every covenant God ever made with man. They go along with their parents (Genesis 9:9-17; 12:1-3; 17:7; Exodus 20:5; Deuteronomy 29:10-13). Peter, on the day of Pentecost, at the beginning of the New Testament dispensation, announces the same great principle. "The promise [just as to Abraham and his seed the promises were made] is unto you, and to your children" (Acts 2:38,39). The children of believing parents are "holy", i.e., are "saints", a title which designates the members of the Christian church (1 Corinthians 7:14). (See BAPTISM .) The church invisible "consists of the whole number of the elect that have been, are, or shall be gathered into one under Christ, the head thereof." This is a pure society, the church in which Christ dwells. It is the body of Christ. it is called "invisible" because the greater part of those who constitute it are already in heaven or are yet unborn, and also because its members still on earth cannot certainly be distinguished. The qualifications of membership in it are internal and are hidden. It is unseen except by Him who "searches the heart." "The Lord knoweth them that are his" (2 Timothy 2:19). The church to which the attributes, prerogatives, and promises appertaining to Christ's kingdom belong, is a spiritual body consisting of all true believers, i.e., the church invisible.

and Iowa State was so alert and took advantage of every
miscue.

I enjoy Scottish Football, but this year seems to be a off year for the league
football wise, as well financially. Teams don't have the clout financially to
get playmakers they need, and younger players can't seem to come around
yet to make " the difference ".

Rangers and Celtic Desire To Resign From Scottish Premier League.
for a new league. Yes, the perennial powerhouses of Scottish football
again are thinking of moving on. The latest episode that has most
definitely pushed this point of contention forward is the latest
tv contract. Which has seen the league have to eat a lot of monies,
because of the financial problems with Setanta Sports. Leaving
the league and teams with a lot less monies than had been
anticipated.
Celtic and Rangers wanted a different plan in the beginning with
a different carrier whom they believed would grant them
better international exposure and better financial promise in the
future. It never materialized. Thus the current strain of the teams
with lower than anticipated tv revenues. Making it more inviting than
ever for Celtic or the Rangers to become the dark horse promised
children of the Premier League. Or, the breakthrough of a new Super
League with powerhouse clubs from smaller European Leagues
wanting to have better and stronger financial positions.
All this will hurt the SPL ( Scottish Premier League ) I love,
but ultimately will make the sport stronger and hopefully
allow other current SPL teams to become strong within themselves
and not be so dependant on Celtic or the Rangers for revenue or
say so.
Whatever happens, I hope it happens sooner rather than later.
That way changes can be made and opportunities considered
for all sides in their plans for the future.
Good Luck SPL.

I'm Reading A New Book, It's Called " What Orwell Didn't Know ".
in the US. Considering Propaganda and American Politics. It begins
by showing things about us being persuaded to leave a " Need's " based
society, and being led by consumer propaganda into a " Desire's based
culture. Then lets you see how various political groups have
taken the psychological and media tools of today, and are bending
our nation their direction, rather than a rational and intellectual, or
practical dimension.
A quote by one of our Founding Father's George Washington
struck a cord in my heart.
" If men are to be precluded from offering their sentiments on a matter
which may involve the most serious and alarming consequences that can
invite the consideration of mankind ", wrote the first president , " reason
is of no use for us ; the freedom of speech may be taken away , and dumb
and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter. "
National ignorance and social action done in compliance without reason
and insight. Without circumspectly looking through the hourglass
of time and space. Is a dangerous preoccupation that could lead
us toward a disastrous conclusion and loss of freedoms and proper
societal growth and evolution.
Take a look at this book if you will. I think it is salient and thought
provoking
God Bless you and yours.

Covenant of Grace Ministry and Fellowship Website Address Has Changed!
The domain is not as easy to remember, but Google has a really
user friendly interface that allows me to more quickly and
favorably changeover the website easily. Or, update it quickly.
Time restraints and quick changes are so much more handy now.
The website's new address is; http://sites.google.com/site/covenantofgraceinc/.
I am now able to link it through a simple link to my audioblog at
Xanga for a complete listing of various ministry teachings and Covenant
Hour broadcast as well. Its much more functional for me at this time. Especially
given the fact that we've had electrical issues in the office. Which now have
been rectified, but has cut out the server on many occasions.
Hope you enjoy the new site, it is very user friendly.
Blessings to you all.

Boy, I didn't know it been so long since I posted!
at xanga.com/pdvossen. That being the case I've really fell behind on
the Blogger postings. Oh well.
Really enjoyed watching the three new episodes that have showed
on the BBC with the Torchwood program. It has been quite exciting
each night with two more left. Its too bad it won't be on BBC America
till July 26th I believe.
USA Soccer did well again in the Gold Cup. Started off slowly, but really
got organised in the second half. Great substitutions and changes by
Coach Bradley on strategy. Better fluidity and a nice 2-0 win over
the Honduras squad, which has a few nice international players.

My Recent Note on the Be-Attitudes
me all the Lord condenses in that passage of scriptural readings. So concise
and so powerful. Giving us principles to live by in His Kingdom.
One of my favorite passages in the sermon is, " Ask, and it shall be given you; seek,
and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that
asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall
be opened " ( Matthew 7:7,8 )
Its amazing to me to see the desire of our Lord to give us answers to life's
questions, and to meet our needs as we show our heart's desire
to seek or to access His Presence. For He says, " it shall ", " shall find ",
" shall be ", " every one that ", " seeketh findeth ", " shall be ". All of these
phrases denote a positive response in return to someone's pursuit for the
Grace of God. Its just so in tune with the Father's will to give us the Kingdom
and provide all that is necessary for godliness and success in this life. Amen.

Going Through a Trial, Hold On
are physically, emotionally and spiritually at the the
breaking point. A few weeks ago I was able to sing
with a wonder trio and background choir. The song was
" Through The Fire " it seemed to inspire folks so
much. We must of sang three encores of it.
That song has been made so popular by The Crabb Family, and
I'm putting that song on my blog today. For I feel led of God that
many could use its powerful words of encouragement, and The
Crabb Family sings it so very powerfully.
Be encouraged my friends, for the scripture says:
Hebrews 13.5:
Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with
what you have; for he has said, ‘I will never leave you or
forsake you.’ NRSV
My Prayer for YOU!
Father God,
In your grace and mercy touch the hearts and minds of the weary.
Strengthen their resolve and help them to refocus on the God
who is able to deliver, to heal, to mend, to do anything but fail.
Let them be so encouraged by the Spirit of the Lord and be
lifted beyond what seems their destruction and placed by
a strong rock by your side. In Jesus Precious and Holy Name, Amen.

Without Hope We Perish
We are living in a day when Hope seems like a fleeting thought to many.
Economies are failing, diseases are rampant and the traditional home is
struggling to survive. Nations continue to fight against nations, and our
children know less and less about working together, but rather learn more
about our differences that drive us a part. What can I say, we are in need
of serious change.
Given the previous paragraph's assessment of our times, throw in our Saviour
Jesus Christ and His appraisal of his generation. Read with me
Luke 11:29-36, " 29 When the crowds were increasing, he began to say, "This generation
is an evil generation; it asks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of
Jonah. 30 For just as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so the Son of Man
will be to this generation. 31 The queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the
people of this generation and condemn them, because she came from the ends of the
earth to listen to the wisdom of Solomon, and see, something greater than Solomon is
here! 32 The people of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and
condemn it, because they repented at the proclamation of Jonah, and see, something
greater than Jonah is here! "
The generation He lived in doesn't seem much different than ours except for the
props and background setting. Yet, in the midst of it Jesus gives a powerful
declaration of Hope. " Something greater than Jonah is here! " Now of course
he was talking about himself. The Son of God, the God-Man in flesh was on
earth and as long as He was on the scene ANYTHING was possible, for nothing
was impossible for Him.
Now take a look at this little story I came across about a certain laboratory
experiment, and see how it can parallel the situation we live in today.
A number of years ago researchers performed an experiment to see the effect hope
has on those undergoing hardship. Two sets of laboratory rats were placed in separate
tubs of water. The researchers left one set in the water and found that within an hour
they had all drowned. The other rats were periodically lifted out of the water and then
returned. When that happened, the second set of rats swam for over 24 hours.
Why? Not because they were given a rest, but because they suddenly had hope!
Those animals somehow hoped that if they could stay afloat just a little longer, someone
would reach down and rescue them. If hope holds such power for unthinking rodents,
how much greater should is effect be on our lives. Today in the Word, May, 1990, MBI,
p. 34
What made the one set of animals prevail so much longer and stronger. HOPE!!!!
The same is true today in our situation in life. The Lord is in our midst, and even
if things seem very difficult and out of control, just the very present hope of His
ministry in our midst gives us a totally different appraisal of the situation, and
hope when we can't even see the future at all.
Never give up, and understand that He is as close as the mention of His Name.
There is Hope.

What A Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
D.C. today. Now I didn't have the privilege that my sister and her
family had to BE there. Nevertheless, it was inspiring and I had
a wonderful sense of optimism and hope for our nation's future.
I am believing God, that with this fine couple and the folks they
have invited to serve with them. That our nation will engage in a
much different and constitutional direction. Not looking to start
wars or pursue vain illusions. Instead, pushing forward and agenda
that reinvigorates the economy, gives healthcare to all and
greater opportunities for all.
Yes, I am trusting that America is now back in the People's hands.
With representation for the people and not for gross personal
gain.

Challenging Day.
a church and return. Quite busy, and then I had to try to get some
governmental incorporation bi-annual reports done and exams to
put online for the School of Faith for this semester. Wow! I didn't get
it all done, but I tried.
Sure hope to finally reach my sister by phone tomorrow. Plus, I'd like
to take a few days off to travel, but have to put some monies together.
My secular job is cutting me down to only 20 hours a week, so I definitely
should be free for some time off. I only wish to have a full time
commitment with the church or another opportunity galvanized
in a few short weeks.

Thinking Of Dad Again Today
and say hi. Or, just go and spend some time with him over the weekend.
I truly wish like anyone would, that I had spent more time with him
the past year. I know he always wanted me to come down to Falls City
to see him. Yet, he understood it was over 300 miles away. He never
wanted me to jeopardize work to go see him. Heck, work doesn't seem
to important to me today.
Love you, and miss you Dad. You were there for me. You prayed for
me, and I enjoyed our time together Dad. Love, Pat
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I truly am getting tired of running around taking care of every situation or
just keeping things going. I find the greatest satisfaction in hearing my kids
voices, or helping a hurting soul, or ministering God's Word to help a
person grow in their faith.
Wow! It truly has been a day of thought and wonderment. Oh well, life goes
on and God is still on the throne. I'm just glad someone smarter than I is
in charge, amen.
